Batman Incorporated Vol 1: Demon Star collects Batman Incorporated #0-6 and continues Grant Morrison's Batman Arc that started with Batman and Son. Batman Incorporated Volume 1 is actually a sequel to Batman Incorporated which was written before the New 52 started. That being said Batman Incorporated Vol 1 could serve as a jumping on point for those new to the series. I have found that reading Batman and Robin Vol 1: Born to Kill helps to better explain Batman and Robin's relationship in really enhanced the read. That being said, it is not necessary to understand the overall arc told by Grant Morrison and detailed below. I highly recommend this comic and Grant Morrison's arc is a must read for any Batman fan.
